The Fit2Live Foundations Program

The Fit2Live Foundations Program

You don’t have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.

The Foundations program at Fit2Live will improve every workout you do for the rest of your life!

The Fit2Live Foundations program is built to teach and refine your skills in the fitness fundamentals. This includes aerobic exercise (cardio), weight lifting with barbells, dumbbells and kettlebells, and calisthenics (like push-ups, pull-ups, burpees, sit-ups, box jumps, and more burpees of course.)

You’ll also learn how to exercise for maximum results, and see the value of the coaching we provide our members at Fit2Live.

Best of all, you’ll FEEL amazing!

Who is the right fit for Fit2Live Foundations Program?

The right fit at Fit2Live has nothing to do with your physical abilities, and everything to do with your character.

We protect you, our members and our staff from anyone who might add negativity, say things that promote body shaming and people who aren’t interested in being coached.

As long as you are kind and coachable you will excel at Fit2Live!

Fit2Live is a fitness and nutrition coaching business. We want you to start exercising, find a program you love, tweak it over time, and never stop.

We tailor everything to you.

Because we designed our programs with you in mind, we created a foundations program, to start you off with the right amount of exercise and difficulty that will set you up for long term success.

We’ll start off slow and steady in session #1 and we’ll appropriately increase the difficulty and intensity as you knock out each session and your fitness steadily increases.

What is the Fit2Live Foundations Program?

We know that some people prefer personal training – an environment that allows for focus on your body at all of its limitations, strengths, weaknesses and pain, others prefer group classes – gain community, cheer each other, feel the energy and maybe even go to brunch together! And then others prefer a hybrid approach to fitness, where you have the focus you need with personal training coupled with the group class environment.

Which one are you?

Whatever works for your body AND your mind, our Foundations Program has you covered.

We start all new members at Fit2Live with 1-on-1 personal training in our foundations program.

After your initial personal training sessions you have the option to stick with more personal training, move to group classes, or do the best of both worlds with the individualized attention of personal training and the energy and support of our group classes.

Our Foundations program coaches you through proper technique in all 6 Foundational Movement patterns. We coach you through proper technique, so you move safely AND we learn about HOW your body moves along the way.

How does the Foundations program at Fit2Live help me?

With the Fit2Live Foundations program, you don’t just sign up and hop in to group classes with the coach knowing nothing about you, or you knowing nothing about the class.

You don’t just sign up and start lifting heavy weight in personal training sessions.

Those are both quick ways to get hurt and feel frustrated, and end up quitting your new fitness routine again. Have you been there? I know I have!

Our Foundations program is designed to make sure you get the benefits of exercise that show up in your every day life.

Since we train your for what life throws at you outside the walls of Fit2Live, we have to start by mastering the foundations in order to build upon them.

What are the 6 foundational movement patterns?

The 6 foundational movement patterns that are found in every day life are: squat, hinge, lunge, push, pull and carry.

  • Squat: Sitting on the toilet, getting in and out of a car, sitting on the couch
  • Hinge: Picking something up that you dropped, bending over to pet a dog, picking up a child
  • Lunge: Helps you get up off the floor, walking up stairs, hiking
  • Push: Pushing a child on a swing, push yourself off the ground, push a car that is broken down
  • Pull: Pulling something off a shelf, pulling someone up off of the ground
  • Carry: Carrying a child, groceries, moving boxes, laptop bag

We do teaching and assessment of each of these movements patterns by providing you with personal training sessions to start.

After that, you begin either group classes or continue with personal training sessions to reach your goals or a healthy mix of both of those options.

If you really want to accelerate your progress you can get started with our nutrition and wellness coaching program to work on all of your habits outside of the gym.

If there is more focus needed to excel in these foundational movements, we won’t hold you back from joining classes if you feel ready, but we will continue working with you as needed to improve along the way.

In summary, we want to set you up for fitness success not just for the short term, but the long term.

We want to give you the best possible fitness journey at Fit2Live.

One that builds you up appropriately, rather than doing too much too soon leading to injury, frustration or a dip in confidence.

To do this we start by getting to know you and appropriately building your fitness up with 1-on-1 personal training in our foundations program.

We’ll be with you every step of the way. It’s what we do. We support you, care about you, and help you stay or get back on track with your health and fitness for life!
