Why Does Mindset Matter?
“Cognitive therapists have long understood that we don’t simply respond to events in life, but to our interpretations of those events. Mindsets are an important means through which we process and reprocess the events of our lives. That matters, because our processing ultimately shapes our emotional experience. Limits become challenges, and challenges become sources of opportunity and growth.” Brett Steenbarger, Forbes, July 28, 2020
At Fit2Live, the people who experience the most growth and progress toward their health and fitness goals are the people who allow themselves to “fail” and to learn something new. They try new things, they try hard things and soon enough they are doing things they never thought they could or would do. “I can’t do that” becomes, “I can’t do that YET”.
Is there something you have dreamed of doing and yet you have not even taken a step toward trying because you are afraid of failing? The only true failure is not trying. Is there a goal that you have that does not seem possible? Perhaps you are focusing too much on the end result and are not able to see the first step toward getting there.
