I wanted to share some interesting insight with you that might prove beneficial on your journey towards success and achieving your health and wellness goals.
Research shows that an astounding 95% of your success or failure can be attributed to the people you choose to surround yourself with. Having a supportive network, whether it’s friends, accountability partners, coaches, neighbors, or roommates, can play a crucial role in your progress. It’s essential to evaluate whether the individuals in your inner circle are genuinely aiding your advancement or inhibiting it.
Let’s be honest; we all encounter people in our lives who might not be entirely aligned with our health and wellness aspirations. To ensure you have the right support system, I’ve compiled two useful tips to help you assess and maintain a supportive circle:
Tip #1: Conduct an Inner Circle Inventory
Take a moment to reflect on the five people you spend the most time with, and ask yourself the following questions:
- Do they actively support your health and wellness goals?
- Do your core values align with theirs?
- Are they open to personal growth and improvement?
- Do they uplift you when you’re feeling down?
- Do they hold you accountable, encouraging you to stay on track, rather than enabling any setbacks?
Tip #2: Embrace Supportive Relationships, Distance Yourself from Detractors
Once you’ve conducted your inner circle inventory, focus on strengthening connections with those who genuinely support your journey. Make an effort to spend more time with them, communicate regularly, and engage in activities that promote mutual growth and well-being. Consider arranging workout sessions together or enjoying social gatherings such as dinner outings or game nights.
As you evaluate your inner circle, remember that sometimes we might need to make adjustments to ensure the best possible environment for personal development.
