5 Reasons to Participate in a Nutrition Challenge

Have you ever thought about joining a nutrition challenge and then gotten overwhelmed with the idea of all the things you will have to give up in order to be successful?

At Fit2Live we believe something as fundamental as Nutrition should not be complicated. We want to add healthy habits to your life, not take things away. The goal of our challenge (and our entire nutrition program) is lifestyle change. We do not want this to be a 28 day temporary fix but rather the start to a lifestyle of health and fitness. We know that elimination diets do not work long term and we want to give you the tools as well as the support and accountability to live the life you want, a life with energy to do the things you want to do and to enjoy the people you surround yourself with.

What are the 5 reasons you would benefit from participating in our Nutrition Challenge?

5. You will drink more water!

It is recommended that a person consumes half their body weight in ounces of water per day. So if a person weighs 160 lbs, they should drink at least 80 ounces of water per day.

Why is drinking this much water important?
Water helps us to maintain normal body temperature, lubricate joints, protect the spinal cord & other tissues and aids in the elimination of waste.

4. You will eat more protein!

Did you know that pairing protein, fat and carbohydrates together allows you to feel more full and satisfied? It also helps to stabilize your blood sugar!
Protein is made of amino acids and these are what our bodies need to build and rebuild muscle.
Feeling hungry is never a good feeling so you want to set yourself up for success by focusing on balance!

3. You will eat more veggies!

Non-starchy veggies provide you with vitamins, minerals, and fiber to help you stay full longer.
The American Heart Association recommends that a person consumes 25-30 grams of fiber per day from real food, not supplementation. The average American only consumes about 15 grams/day!

2. You will get more sleep!

Our goal during the challenge will be to get 7 hours (or more) of sleep.
Research shows that creating healthy sleep habits is a central part of health and wellness, and practicing good sleep hygiene aims to set you up for a good night’s rest. National Sleep Foundation guidelines advise that healthy adults need between 7 and 9 hours of sleep per night. Having a set schedule normalizes sleep as an essential part of your day and gets your brain and body accustomed to getting the full amount of sleep that you need.

1. It will be fun!

It is always more fun to do challenging things in a group. Just like workouts are more fun when you do them alongside your friends, the Nutrition Challenge will be more fun when you participate with your friends. Our group provides support and accountability. We will share tips and tricks for making all of the above habits just a little bit easier to incorporate into your life.

Our nutrition challenge begins on January 15, 2024.

You do not need to be a member to join our challenge, you do not even need to live in this area.
Grab a friend and take the next step on your journey to becoming the best version of you!
