Nutrition and Wellness now and in the days ahead with Coach EJ

A few weeks ago I had the privilege to attend a conference hosted by Healthy Steps Nutrition (HSN), our partner in Nutrition and Wellness.

Gym owners and nutrition coaches from all over the world assembled in Nashville, TN. The conference opened with Nicole Aucoin, the founder of HSN, giving us a state of the industry address. It was both encouraging and challenging to see where we are in the world of nutrition and wellness and how much more potential there is to help people move from sickness toward wellness. We have the opportunity to help people not only live longer but to also bring more life to those years. People are searching for ways to fight against the sedentary lifestyle and the poor nutrition habits that have left them feeling like they are just slugging their way through life and we have the knowledge and the methods to help them achieve a life where they can do the things they want to do because their bodies are healthy both inside and out.

Nicole challenged us to think beyond the walls of our gym to our friends, family, neighbors, co-workers and people that we associate with in all circles of life.

Consider the question, “Who would benefit from better nutrition and wellness? ”

The answer, of course, is everyone!

How we feed and care for our bodies is the foundation on which everything else is built.

People are searching for answers. They want to move better, they want more energy, they want more clarity in thinking, they want to feel more confident in their bodies and in their lives. All of these and more can be achieved through lifestyle changes in nutrition, sleep, stress management and consistent movement.

I attended sessions on the connection between gut health and mental health, how our hormones affect literally every system in our bodies, helping postnatal moms recover more quickly from the birth experience through nourishing foods, and finally a session on the plethora of weight loss drugs and what we in the wellness industry can do.

People are looking to their doctors and to pharmacology for the answers but these professions typically have limited time, limited resources and little to no training to help people find the solutions they need for a lifetime of health and wellness. These professionals are not our competition! People want a healthy life and we have the opportunity to come alongside them and help them add habits that will allow them to move beyond the quick fix mentality toward a lifetime of health and wellness.

The conversations between sessions, during meals and around the coffee table were invaluable as well. Connecting with other coaches who have the same passion and vision that we do was invigorating. Ideas and experiences were shared and I am excited to share what I learned with you all.

So I ask you the question:

Who do you know that could benefit from better nutrition and wellness habits?

I invite you to have a conversation with Katie or me. We love talking about this stuff!

Invite your friends, family, neighbors and co-workers to have a conversation with us.
