Nutrition and Wellness client of the month: Keyonna Williams!

Nutrition and Wellness client of the month: Keyonna Williams!

If you are a regular at our barbell classes you know Keyonna as a hardworking athlete who shows up consistently despite her crazy schedule.

What you may not know is that Keyonna is a Pediatric surgery oncology research fellow at the University of Michigan. With so much of her time taken up in the pursuit of helping others she realized she needed to invest in her own health and fitness so she could continue to show up as her best self in all her roles.

Keyonna has health and fitness goals that she is working toward, such as consistently running races and getting stronger in her Olympic lifts, with the ultimate goal of a healthy lifestyle that will carry her through all of life’s demands.

Her persistence, ready smile and perseverance are just some of the reasons Keyonna is featured this month.

Here is what she has to say about her journey with the nutrition and wellness coaching program here at Fit2Live:

What prompted you to start in our nutrition coaching program?

“I wanted to get more serious about my health. I decided to start with nutrition since it’s the link to so many aspects of a person’s health.  I also loved the idea of not just setting goals but also creating plans to actually achieve them one step at a time.  Most importantly, I wanted accurate information, not just the latest trend.”

What is something you have learned from your experience so far?

“Small steps and small changes can lead to more consistent results but it takes a lot of patience.  It also requires you to be realistic and honest with yourself while also giving yourself grace. ”

What would you tell someone who is considering nutrition/wellness coaching?

“Invest in yourself and be patient.  Be open and ready to try something new and adjust your perspective.”

It is exciting to see Keyonna work toward her goals, meet them and then set new ones.

She is a testimony to the value of investing in your own health and wellness and she is an asset in the future of our health care.

Thanks Keyonna for continuing to work hard in all aspects of your life and thanks for joining us on this part of your journey!
