November 2025
This month’s member spotlight is on the quietly consistent and hard-working duo — Noelle and Dave Llyod! 💪❤️
This power couple is the definition of showing up, putting in the work, and leading by example.
Since joining us at the end of 2022, Noelle has been a steady force in the gym — humble, focused, and fiercely consistent, earning her spot in the 250 Class Club.
Dave, who first joined Fit2Live back in 2017 to 2019 and then made his comeback in 2021, has built an impressive 8-month streak on our Committed Club board and is also a proud member of the 250 Class Club.
Together, they bring quiet determination, positive energy, and a touch of wit to every class they attend.
You can always count on them to work hard, encourage others, and make the Fit2Live community even stronger.
For these reasons and many more, Noelle and Dave have been chosen as our Members of the Month for November!
Read all about Noelle and Dave’s amazing Fit2Live journey below!
Tell us about yourselves, where you’re from, what you do for work, hobbies, what do you do outside of work and Fit2Live?
Noelle- I’m from the Lansing area originally and currently work for U-M. Outside of work/Fit2Live I can be found spending time with Dave, our dog Hawkeye and our friends/family, reading and/or listening to a book or podcast, cooking/baking, or playing Stardew Valley.
Dave- I am from Bloomfield Hills originally, graduated from U of M and moved to Salt Lake City, UT for a few years after college and really got into crossfit and the outdoors before moving back around 2015. I work as a productivity engineer at Trijicon and mainly focus on being outdoors with Noelle and our dog Hawkeye when I am not at the gym.
Tell us your love story but spare us some of the sappy details. How did you meet, first date, proposal details, etc.
We met on Bumble late 2019 (our first date was at Ashley’s in Ann Arbor), we moved in together in 2022 after going on a trip to Italy, and got engaged in 2023 (Dave took Noelle on a run that spelled out “Will You Mairy Me” on Strava (stupid downed DTE powerline) and we celebrated afterwards with Gatorade and Prosecco). We have now been married since July 2024!

When and why did you get started at Fit2Live?
Noelle- David suggested I try it out around the time we moved in together in 2022; I was looking for additional ways to exercise that weren’t my usual “go for a run and maybe do some core exercises afterwards.”
Dave- I started back in 2017 back when I used to work at a company that was next door to the gym and I wanted to get into crossfit again.

What do you love most about Fit2Live, what keeps you coming back consistently?
Noelle- I hadn’t been in a proper “weight room” since probably high school by the time I first went to Fit2Live, so I was initially nervous about joining a “CrossFit” gym and wasn’t sure what to expect. Pretty much from the beginning though, everyone here, from the coaches to the other members, has been welcoming and encouraging. I love that there is an emphasis on scaling, a lot of variety in the workouts each week, and that it’s ultimately meant to be a fun activity in a way that I don’t feel like you get from other gyms of this type.
Dave- I really used to love the endurance classes, but I mainly stay for the community and the programming. I tried a different crossfit gym in the area that some friends went to and it was absolutely not the same, which led me be back to Fit2Live in 2021. Most other CrossFit gyms I’ve been to always talked about putting your ego aside and scaling to what works best for your body but I really only ever felt comfortable doing that at Fit2Live because this gym has truly created a culture of caring for and working on your body. Plus there is such a wonderful cross section of characters that go here that you can’t help but feel at home.

Give us a fun, maybe unknown fact about yourselves.
Noelle- I’m left-handed.
Dave- I have a twin that is the exact opposite of me (in most ways).
Dave, describe Noelle in 1 sentence to someone who hasn’t met her. Noelle, describe Dave in 1 sentence to someone who has never met him.
Noelle- Is a thoughtful, sweet and wonderful woman who is always so welcome and loving. She always has a podcast going during the day and a book backlog at AADL that saves us money compared to what we pay in taxes.
Dave- Dave is tall, blue-eyed and bald and can give off grumpy vibes at first but is actually very kind and thoughtful, and more often than not has a random song stuck in his head that he’ll sing to himself.
If you could travel anywhere in the world tomorrow, where would you go?
International: We’d take Hawkeye with us to Cinque Terre in Italy to enjoy the stunning coastal vibes and let Hawkeye swim his little heart out in the ocean.
Domestic: A nice cozy fall week on Orcas Island in WA

Give yourselves a power couple nickname. Now make a power couple workout with that name. What movements, repetitions, format, etc?

What is your biggest fitness accomplishment to-date and what fitness goal are you most pursuing/working towards currently?
Noelle- I have (some) upper body strength now! No major goals at the moment, just trying to maintain if not improve current levels of fitness.
Dave- A 5-day 100 mile point-to-point run in Colorado, or the 2 marathons I’ve completed. I really am looking to be comfortable in my own body again after the COVID years.
