How To Take That First Step Today.
Stop asking yourself:
“What is the best way to do xyz…?”
And start asking yourself:
“What’s the easiest way to start xyz…?”
Sounds simple enough right?
Unfortunately, we make this simple thought much more complicated than it should be.
Why do we make it complicated?
Because getting started is hard.
Overcoming our own objections and getting out of our own way is hard, really hard.
We want it to be perfect before we even begin.
We want it to look a certain way, to be a certain way, to have a certain level of comfort and confidence before we even begin.
But guess what?
Anything new never starts this way.
You’re paralyzed by indecision and frozen by consuming more and more information.
What you really need is to TAKE ACTION on the information you already know.
*What if you just – started?
*What if you just – did the thing – and continued to – do the thing?
*What if Day 1 of doing the thing made Day 2 just a touch easier?
*What if Day 2 made Day 30 effortless?
*What if by Day 90 you had built a sustainable system that made doing that initially hard thing automatic?
Think of what you could focus on if you just got started on that hard thing and got to the point where it became a default in your life?
What next thing would you move onto if you didn’t have to stress about losing weight, moving your body, eating right, living longer, etc?
The next time you’re putting off getting started just remember:
You can’t get to an easy and automatic Day 90 without a hard Day 1.
So the next time you catch yourself saying….
“I just need to learn this one more thing,”
or
“I just need to ask these few more questions,”
Turn it into….
“I’m just going to DO this one thing today”
And then repeat that small thing the next day, and the day after that until it becomes automatic.
Don’t overcomplicate it.
You just need to get started today!
